NADINE PEARLETTE COLEBANK OLSON

Nadine Pearlette Colebank was born December 7, 1945 to Pearl Ellet and M. Wynafred Bobbitt
Colebank in Madelia, Minnesota. Nadine grew up in Madelia and attended school grades 1 through 12
there. After high school she went to the Johnson Beauty Academy in Mankato, Minnesota. After getting
her beautician license Nadine went to work for Margaret Olson in her hair salon.
It was while she was working for Margaret Olson that Nadine met Margaret's son James and a
romance developed. Nadine and James were married December 6, 1969 in the Presbyterian Church
in St. James, Minnesota. James' brother and sister-in-law stood up with them at their wedding. Their
reception was held in the Presbyterian Church in Madelia. There was a big snowfall that day and the
snow was wet and heavy.
James Norman Olson was the adopted son of Elmer and Margaret Olson. He was born May 23, 1936
to Margaret's sister Hilda Sherlock in Fairmont, Minnesota. James graduated from high school in
Madelia and served in the Air Force in the Vietnam War.
Nadine and James lived in North Mankato where James had a job tending bar. James liked to read
and watch football games. Nadine enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cross stitching, reading and gardening.
In September 1972, when baby Steven was a year old, they moved to Madelia. Nadine and James were
divorced three years later in January of 1975.
Nadine then owned and operated her own hair salon in Madelia. She and her children Steven and
Marynda attended the First United Presbyterian Church in Madelia where Nadine was an active
member and held positions of leadership.
Nadine fell ill with ovarian cancer and died November 1, 1995 at age 49.

Nadine Pearlette Colebank and James Olson had one child:

Steven Kirby Olson - born September 5, 1971 in Madelia, Minnesota.

Nadine Pearlette Colebank and John Myron Morgan had one child:

Marynda Jolene Olson - born July 15, 1975 in Madelia, Minnesota.
