| PETER COLEBANK, Father of JAMES COALBANK, Father of MARINDA COLEBANK THOMAS Marinda Colebank was born in 1840 in Greene County, Pennsylvania to parents James Coalbank and Mary Goodwin. She was the youngest child of ten children. She married Samuel Thomas, born in January 16, 1837 to Hezekiah and Abigail Thomas . The family lived in Morgantown, West Virginia in 1870 and Samuel was listed as a laborer. Marinda died June 14, 1873 in Monongalia County, West Virginia, possibly of complications of James' birth, and Samuel married a much younger woman named Nancy in 1877, with whom he had at least nine more children. Samuel died April 23, 1909. The children of Marinda Colebank and Samuel Thomas were: Mary Eliza Thomas -- born May 1, 1863, died March 31, 1952. Martha Thomas -- born in 1865. Martha died from a burn in December of 1873 at age 8, just six months after her mother died. Elizabeth Thomas -- born in 1867 Lora Thomas -- born November 17, 1869, died August 21, 1941. Milton Wesley Thomas -- born November 20, 1870. He married Mary E. Dolan in 1895 in Preston County, West Virginia. He was a carpenter. Milton died March 20, 1945. James Thomas -- born 1873. |
